GIUSEPPE AJMONE

Carpignano Sesia 1923 - 2005

He was born in Carpignano Sesia in 1923, he lives in Milan. He frequented the Academy of Brera in 1941 he was the pupil of Carrà and Funi. In 1946 he joined the movement "Oltre Guernica" ("Beyond Guernica") and in 1949 we find him in the cities of Monferrato and Bassignano. In 1948 he exposed at the Biennale of Venice and so forth in 1950, 1952, 1958 and in 1962 with a personal exibition. In 1948 he won the 1° prize Novara. From 1951 he collaborated at the Triennale of Milan and he partecipated at the technical jury of the XIth manifestation of the directive of the Centro Studi. He participated at the Triennale of Milan from 1951 to 1960. In 1955 he took part at 3 international exibitions: Contemporary Italian Painting in Madrid, Barcellona and San Senastian; Exibition of Pittsburg; Prize Young Painters in Rome, Paris, Bruxelles. In 1952 he prepared an inportant personal exibition at the Bussola Gallery in Turin and in 1954 at the Milione Gallery in Milan. Then he organized many personal exibitions at the foreings: Carnegie Institute of Pittsburg; Vincent Smith Art Museum, Springfield; Columbus Museum of Art, Columbus; University of Georgia, Athens; GraceBorgenight, New York. He died April, 8th 2005.
